The First

In the blink of an eye, I am legally married for a year, this coming Sunday.

How do I feel? Hmm... Time waits for no man. That's what I feel. Oh, and I feel grateful to have such an understanding husband. He's no perfect man, but none of us are perfect. Guess I could never ever find another man that would take in all my craps willingly. Oops, correction: I shall never look for another man anymore. LOL!

Though we're married and been together for so long, there is not a day we feel less loved. We quarreled, threw tantrums, got angry with each other, had countless cold wars... But they all stopped the very next day. I've heard people said "don't sleep on an unresolved matter, solve it there and then". Well, that is bullsh** at times. Sometimes the arguments heat up, both parties just simply have to cool down and stop talking. Many times after a good night sleep, I simply just do not remember what we had argued or I'd realise it's just some small matter that needs no further attention. Why sweat over the small stuff when there are bigger things you have to focus on? One of the bigger things is, be happy.

After all, we've known each other for so long. The likes and dislikes, which buttons to push and which not to push further, we know them well. But "accidents" do happen. Hahahaha! Hey, we're no perfect couples. :) A lot of times we got pissed off at each other, but those are sweet moments too. Often we laugh out loud together recalling our reactions back then. Yes, we do talk about it later after we both cool down. :)

I do nag at him. Oh please, every woman nags, ok. Don't tell me you as a woman never nag. :p I too grumble about him with friends. No matter how happy we are, we tend to have things that we need to get them off our chest sometimes. Nope, nothing others can do or have to do. Listening will be more than enough. Don't you agree? By the way, Andrew nags too! You'll never believe me if you never see it. And you would never see it as he only does that to me when no one else is around. LOL!

So, how are we going to celebrate it? Well, being Ashley and Andrew, we ain't really into celebrating all these. To us, we can celebrate it any day we want. Everyday is a Valentine's day because we are still in love each and single day. And everyday is an anniversary, because we are still together every single day. Hence, no point to celebrate only ONCE on every 365th day. :) We shall celebrate love, not the DAYS.

The day we sealed the "deal". :)

The Birthday Girl

28 September, our lovely friend, Wan Yi's birthday. :)

I asked her if she would be going for celebration or dinner with family, surprisingly she said nope. Then I remembered Andrew wasn't working, why not we go to Klang for the fish soup again?! :O Yes! Andrew said OK! Then I asked Phoebe together, glad that she could join us! It is very rare for so many of us to gather for a dinner on a weekday. All of us were so excited. Too bad that Nicole couldn't join us.

Before we went to Klang, Andrew and I gotta pick Phoebe up from her home 'cause she was waiting for her friend to come to take the dog back. Last week she adopted a ShihTzu dog from her friend, but guess the poor doggy couldn't get used to the new environment. I've seen the dog for twice and thought I would want to see him again for the last time and say goodbye to him. He is actually very adorable and tame. Couldn't help but feel a teeny bit of sadness when he was leaving. He came to me, pawing at me wanted me to "sayang" him. Aww...... My heart melted.

Back to our birthday girl. :) We reached the restaurant pretty late. 5 of us, happily savoring the food. We were so hungry! The food was just so good...... Glad that they enjoyed the fish soup too. :)

Didn't manage to give Wan Yi a treat that night. Probably do it another time. Hahaha. Yeah, we girls definitely know how to have fun. :P

Phoebe's dog, only stayed for a week. He is very cute though.

12 Months

Yes, if Wan Yi didn't mention it, I've forgotten it's been a year! It is an occasion that's worth celebrating.

A year of what? Of friendship. Last year September, I was actively involved in a wedding forum, Malaysia Brides. Discussions, inquiries, queries, answers, sharing of experiences...... I was writing and posting so much in the forum. I was pretty familiar with a group of members. We started to chat and share our experiences and life. Within a short period of time, we know each other if not very well, also pretty well.

Jenny and Adeline are the first two from the forum that I met. Both of them are funny type and very true to themselves. No disguise, no pretends. I was a bit surprised that I could get along with them pretty well, they're so much younger than me!

Then, I met Christine, Chelvin, Niki, Samantha, Berry, Elaine Choo, Winnie, Melissa, Vivian Miumiu, Vivian KC, Wan Yi, Nicole...... Then there was Elaine Gan, ZZ, Annie and Shin Yee. Geez... Now I realised I've met so many of them! What an honour! I even had the chance to photograph Vivian Miumiu, Christine's pretty doggie and Shin Yee! These are the friends that make everything worthwhile. They give you the supports you need just at the right time!

There are some of us making great efforts in maintaining the friendship. Over the years, I've come to believe that friends grow out of each other's life. Everyone has his/her own pace, we can't force each other to hurry or to slow down. It is no one's fault when we disappoint our friends, it's just merely our paths do not cross anymore. We said "Hello" with a smile when our paths crossed, but why is it so difficult for us to say "See ya" when our paths separated? Yes, it's not goodbye. Who knows there will come one day we will meet on the same path again?

A toast to friends that I have met in the past one year, to our friendship, to the happy times together, to the sharing of life experiences, to the laughters and tears we shared...... May our paths crossed for many, many, many more years to come. Cheers!

6 Months!

Oh well well well...... I have officially ditched my single status for 6 months!!!

Looking back, 6 months isn't a long time. But looking at how time flies, that really got me thinking.

I haven't been a good wife for that past 6 months. LOL! Okay, what would constitute to a good wife? Let's leave that to Andrew to judge and figure. :P I'd rather save some of my brain juice for something else. Hehehe.

China Earthquake 2008. One Year Anniversary.

A year ago, 12th May 2008, a richter scale of 7.8 earthquake happened in Wen Chuan, China. It was only 2 days later that the help managed to get into the town of Wen Chuan. The first rescued team travelled on foot for 1 day 1 night in order to get in there.

Can't believe it is a year from now. I am now watching this documentary on 8TV about the rescue and incidents happened there and then. I still cried. Children who lost their lives, they were still so small and young. There were even children who had to sacrifice their limbs in order to survive! Children who lost their parents, became orphan in one night. Parents who lost their children, what's left is only their school bags and memories. Gosh...... I just feel so sad now.

Can't stop crying watching it...... :(

A man under the concrete said, "I must be strong, I have to be strong, I can't disappoint those who love me, my wife is waiting for me. I need to survive."

They finally got him out after 7 hours of rescue. But he didn't make it. He hang on till the very last minute to get out but he didn't make it...... He was exhausted and the pain was too much...... He didn't make it......

29th Birthday

A year younger, a year wiser. Hahaha. Can't believe that I'm close to 30!!! ARGH!

I am April Fool's baby. People used to say that I joked with them, they used to request to see my identification card. Guess nowadays as I grow older, people no longer asking me to do that. Why would someone lie about their birth date, right?

Years ago, I spent my birthday here in KL with Andrew. It was a lonely birthday, very lonely indeed. I have told myself I would not want to celebrate birthday alone anymore. Then, every year I'd go back to hometown to celebrate with family. Last year, as my birthday fell on a weekday, Phoebe and Andrew had a surprise birthday for me. That was really sweet of them. Too bad that Phoebe lost all the photos.

This year, I did not expect any celebration. I even nearly forgot that my birthday was near. All I could remember was all the tasks that are having deadline on 31st March. It was when Andrew mentioned it then only I realised 1st April was coming soon. On last Saturday, met up with Wan Yi and Melissa, again they reminded me of 1st April.

Finally the day has come. I was still working yesterday. A few have asked me why I didn't take leave. Well, Andrew was working. If I took leave I'd be staying at home or shopping alone. So, why waste it. Went to Sheraton Imperial for dinner, with Andrew and Phoebe.

We wanted to have Dim Sum, but they don't serve dim sum for dinner. So we ordered the a-la-carte from the menu. The food was ok, but the price was a killer! Well, restaurant in a hotel, what do you expect. Hahaha. We were chit-chatting for quite a long time in the restaurant, playing around with my iPhone and Phoebe's HTC Diamond. Hahaha.

No cake, no birthday song...... Just a dinner with my loved ones. Guess that is enough. :)
Anyway, I'm going back hometown next week, shall be having a great one with family.

Ok, reading this blog post, I find that I do not know what I'm writing about. Hahaha. I'm so tired and Wan Yi insisted me to update my blog!!! I'm sleepy too. Had a bad and tough day today. Do not wish to describe it, it's already passed, just let it be.

Alright! It's all gibberish now. I'd better stop before it gets worse. Waiting for Andrew's brother to come pick us up, going back to Terengganu...... @_@ Sleepyyyy......

One Month Anniversary

When people always say men are not good with important dates, I think I'll be the first one to stand up and speak for them. Hahahahahaha...... Because, I being a woman, am NOT good with important dates too!!!

I don't remember my friends' birthday, except for my best friend Phoebe's birthday. Also, I can only remember those 'easy' dates. Such as 1st day of the month or on a holiday. But still, I will get confused. There was once, I remembered clearly my sister's birthday is in July. I sent her a SMS, wanted her to feel happy that I remember her birthday. She replied, "hey, my birthday is next week!! What's the problem with you? You always forget!" LOL.

Even if I remembered, I would still miss the dates. I now remember all my 3 sisters' birthday, but I always forgot to wish them on the day itself. Hahahaha...... It is just not in my memory that there might be anything special today. I now rely very much on my calendar.

I made a big mistake few years back by forgetting someone's birthday. No wishes, no pressie, no kisses, no hugs, no nothing from me on the birthday. Everything went on as usual on that day. The next morning when I was in the office, signing documents, checking the date...... My heart skipped a beat! I would say that my heart almost jumped out from my mouth! I cursed at myself and my colleagues were all stunned and looking at me with wide-eye. I FORGOT ANDREW'S BIRTHDAY! ~LOL~ I didn't make this up, I did forget his birthday. Hahaha. Called him immediately, but the damage was done. He sounded so disappointed and sour, that I could forget his birthday. He said, "now only you remembered! Hmph!" I deserved it. Hahaha.

I was forgiven, but I couldn't forget about it myself. It was funny whenever I think about it.

I am a woman, so I was forgiven easily. Imagine if a man forgets his girlfriend/wife's birthday, it's going to be disaster. The whole world would curse at him and 10 years later people will still curse at him when they think of it.

Why a man who is forgetful is always sinful, whilst a woman who is forgetful is purely 'having too many things in her mind'?

6th December was my wedding. I am now married for 1 month and 3 days. I didn't notice it until this morning. I wonder, when 6th December of this year comes, will I remember? Hahaha. And now I remember Andrew's birthday ('cause I have it saved in the calendar in my handphone with reminder. Hahahaha. Shhh... Don't tell him).

Guess mom and dad didn't give me a good 'dates storage'. Hahahaha. Yeah, blame it on my parents. I am so sinned. >_<
