iPhone MY Life

Got my iPhone!!! Yeah!

It works fine, only the typing part is a bit troublesome, need some time to get used to.

Ish!!! Used iPhone to type the first 2 paragraphs, failed to publish!!! Now back to using my lappie.

There was some small drama when I collected the phone just now. When I was right in front of KLCC, someone from Machines called me and told me I couldn't get the phone tonight! WHAT?! I still remember when I asked her if I could collect it tonight and she replied "why not?" She said due to the server problem, they couldn't see the update eventhough Maxis has approved and activated my line. WTH!!! I told her to at least release the SIM card to me as I didn't on my phone for one whole day and who knows someone could have SMS me and I couldn't reply. Finally, she called again and told me I could collect it. *Phew*

There I was in the Machines store, collecting my iPhone. We were there choosing the casing for the phone. That 2 sales assistant were with us for an hour!!! Yep, getting an iPhone casing is bloody more difficult than getting a dress for myself!

Time's up. Gotta play with my new toy now...... Hahahaha......

iPhone Tomorrow

Bad news, my DiGi line has been terminated!!! I can't make or receive any calls now, and I haven't got my Maxis SIM card. ARGH!

Good news, that means I shall be getting my iPhone tomorrow!!! YEEHAH!!! Tomorrow after work, gotta make a trip to KLCC then. Still, wonder if I could use the phone tomorrow. Who knows what else they need to do with the port-in. Better don't expect too much now.

This is something hilarious yet painful to watch. For those who do not like iPhone, enjoy. For those who own and love their iPhone, sorry that you have to watch this. T_T

Dreams Come True

I am happy now. Happy, extremely happy.

iPhone or Nokia N96, I no longer need to dream of having them. I am owning one of them, soon!!! Hahahahahaha...... Sorry, I just couldn't get rid of that smile on my face.

Yesterday went to Pavilion with Mel and Wan Yi. We chat and ate a lot!!! 1pm had our lunch at TGIF and 4pm we had our afternoon tea at Old Town Signature cafe. Wan Yi definitely has a bigger stomach than us. LOL. Both of them went back at 5pm and I went to KLCC with Andrew.

In fact, on Thursday night we already went to check on the phone. It all started with Andrew showing me the walkthrough video on Wednesday. He is so evil! After seeing the real thing, gosh...... I wouldn't want anything else! I was thinking, either I was going to save money and get that or I was never going to change my handphone.

We saw this advertisement board in KLCC, in support of the Earth Hour on 28th March, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, purchase RM1000 and above in the mall, stand a chance to get a pair of free Grandstand tickets to Sepang F1!!! That's it. Everything was destined. If we get the phone and be the first 15 to go to the concierge counter, we get 2 F1 tickets!!! Andrew so wanted to go to the F1 and now we had the chance to get a Grandstand ticket!

So, Andrew got me this iPhone! In order to get the F1 tickets, we had to make the purchase from 8.30pm onwards. 8pm we were already in the Machines store, the Maxis guy there told us we couldn't purchase the iPhone as the system was slow and they needed time to check my record and all other things. I was a bit pissed, Andrew kept telling him to check now. Finally, he managed to call Maxis and checked for us. Yes, we could make the payment on 8.30pm, luckily. After everything, we only got the receipt at 8.40pm!!! Andrew ran all the way down to concourse level to get the F1 tickets.

When I saw him with an umbrella 15 minutes later. I thought "damn, we couldn't get the tickets". Almost! He got it! He was the last one, the 15th customer! He was so pissed with the exchanging tickets part. Obviously, some guy cut the queue just because he was there earlier and his receipt was faulty and went back to the shop to get a better one, now he came back and cut right in front of Andrew. The concierge told Andrew no more tickets left, asked him to queue at the other side for the umbrella. He showed his pissed face to that concierge, that's what Andrew told me! Andrew would never show faces to people unless he is really really angry or pissed. Hahaha. Then, miracle happened. The concierge told him there was a pair left and he was the last customer! Gosh, were we lucky or were we not?!

Got the iPhone plus the F1 Grandstand tickets, we're so happy. But I do not have the iPhone with me now, gotta wait for the port-in and approval from DiGi, going to take 2 or 3 working days. It is so funny that at that point of time, iPhone wasn't our main concern. We were more interested in getting that F1 tickets! Luckily we got the tickets, or else that Maxis guy in Machines is going to laugh at us.

Andrew said if we were to calculate the monetary gain, we actually bought the iPhone at RM1290 only, because that pair of F1 tickets cost RM1000. Which is true, if I were to sell that tickets to someone else, I'd get RM1000. Andrew told me he is fine if I wanted to sell the tickets to someone, even at a discounted price. NO NO NO!!! It was so difficult to get them for free and I am so NOT going to sell them! This would be my first time to Sepang F1 circuit to watch F1 live, and it's a Grandstand ticket! I wouldn't trade that experience for RM1000 cash. Well, unless someone wants to buy them at a much higher price. Hahahahahaha......

There's another reason we wanted to buy the iPhone from Machines instead of from Maxis. We get to become the member of Machines, get rebate vouchers everytime we purchase from them and it's easier for us if we have any problem in the future. Next thing to buy from Machines would be the iPhone casing.

Lots of people told me that iPhone isn't exactly as good as it seems. A lot have told me that their friends and themselves who own an iPhone now would like to throw that phone away after 2 months of using it. Well, guess it is our own personal experience. When we like something or someone, we will still go ahead despite of what others told us. The same happened to Phoebe when I told her HTC Diamond is not stable and yet she went ahead with her decision 'cause she likes that phone. Now, I truly love iPhone. Looking at the price of RM2000 plus, between iPhone and Nokia N96, which one will you choose? Of course I'd choose iPhone since now it's available in Malaysia now with unlock version.

Well, I've been a DiGi user since year 1999. People has also been telling me that DiGi isn't the best network, but I chose to be loyal to it. Can't believe that I have to say bye-bye to DiGi soon. Now, can you see how "powerful" iPhone is? Hahaha.

The free F1 tickets and the Machines membership card.

Earth Hour

Tomorrow, Saturday, 28th March 2009, 8.30pm to 9.30pm, is the Earth Hour. Finally, it is here.

Please do switch off your lights, and your TV if possible.

I'll be going to KLCC a that time. Stay tuned, I'll tell you why later. ;) Till then, wish me luck.

Besides, let's continue praying for my colleague's boyfriend. Pray that he wakes up soon, real soon. Thank you.

Let's Pray

My colleague's boyfriend is still not yet out from a coma, and today he had another surgery. It makes all of us worrying.

All we can do is pray, pray and pray. Pray hard.

Millions and millions thanks to the young indian guy who saved my friend's life, his name is Peter. He was the motorcyclist that was behind when everything happened before his eyes. He didn't just stop a car and sent my friend to the hospital. He took care of all the belongings, made sure no others would take them, did all the registration, went to meet my colleague to make sure everything was in order. Yesterday he even went to the hospital again to pay a visit. He is only 23, yet so kind-hearted. And yesterday was his birthday.

When this world is full of bad guys, it's the simple act of those little angels around us that make the whole world hopeful again.

Also, the driver who rushed my friend to the hospital is another hero too.

For those of you who are reading this, no matter what your religion is, what your skin colour is, could you please help to pray for my friend? Just a little prayer from each of you. This is the only thing I can do to help.

iPhone - My Dream Phone

Now, finally! iPhone is officially launched in Malaysia with Maxis as its official service carrier. Maxis is so blessed!!!

Being a loyal DiGi user for 10 years, I'm not sure if I would want to switch to Maxis just to get my dream phone. I was looking at the plan, gosh, the reasonable one for me would still cost RM1900, 8GB, with RM100 monthly commitment for 12 months.

I can't. Can't do this now. If at all I want to splurge, it has to be on my camera, not this! Good thing that Ashley can now think straight, not impulsive.

Well, my dream phone will always stay as my dream phone. Sigh......

Off topic: Went to Pantai Medical Centre to see my colleague and visit her boyfriend in ICU. His condition now is stable, going for another scan tomorrow to ascertain the condition again. If all goes well, doctor will then stop putting him under anaesthetic and he shall wake up in a few days. It's a relieved to know that he is stable now. My colleague told me that it's going to be a long way to full recovery, the brain injury on the left may cause problem to his right side of body. Therefore, he has to undergo some physio-therapy after this. Well, as long as he is ok, everything is going to be fine. Pray hard that he has a full and speedy recovery.

Disney On Ice: Princess Wishes

Went to Disney On Ice just now. This year, the theme is Princess Wishes, featuring 7 of Disney princess, Ariel, Princess Jasmine, Cinderella, Snow White, Mulan, Belle and Aurora.

Went with Andrew, and we sat together with Nicole and her hubby. Nicole is the loyal fan of Disney On Ice! The performance started at 8.30pm, sharp! I was so excited when it started! Tinkerbell made the first appearance. Gosh, the stage looked rather small and when the lights went on, it looked gorgeous!

First princess was Princess Jasmine from the Aladdin. Belle from Beauty and The Beast came second. Then there was Snow White, good lord that the prince had a slip! Poor thing, but he got up very quickly. Ariel the Little Mermaid is the one I love the most. There was some acrobatic performances too. When it came to Mulan, it was a bit boring. Aurora the Sleeping Beauty was so so so interesting, there was a big dragon that spit fire!!! Great effect! Last but not least, Cinderella came in her gorgeous carriage. I wonder, why Rapunzel is not one of the Disney Princess?

All the princess are so lovely and all the princes are so handsome! Gosh...... The ending was a great one, there was some fireworks too. Overall, it was great. I love it so much. Not sure what theme it will be next year.

Too bad I didn't bring my camera. :( Thought my camera is so big and they might disallow me to bring it in. But they never did a check in the bag like what they did when I went for concerts. ARGH! No photos taken! SAD!!!

I'm glad that Andrew enjoyed it too. He was ok to go to Disney On Ice with me. But it was only moments before the show started that I told him this time it was all about the Disney Princess. He said "Huh? Faint......" Still, he enjoyed it. :)

Off topic: This afternoon got a bad news from a colleague, her boyfriend met a terrible accident on Friday night. A car hit him (motorcyclist), and RAN!!! A kind-hearted passer-by rushed him to the hospital. He is now still lying in the ICU, coma. She told me doctor said it may take a week for him to wake up. She must be worrying terribly. Andrew said tomorrow will give me a lift to the hospital. I just want to be there to give her some courage and support, she doesn't have many friends here in KL. When I called her, she was crying so hard.

Timid to Adventurous

I shall thank a friend of mine. If it wasn't because of what she said, which was like a tight slap on my face, I wouldn't have become what I am today.

I used to be a VERY shy and timid person. I would say that my upbringing made me shy and timid. Parents are over-protective, a lot of things I was not allowed to do when I was much younger. Mom took great care of me to the extent that I would scream so bloody loud when I saw a cockcroach. I hardly took the initiative to make friends, I waited for people to come to approach me first. I did not have the guts to do those adventurous stuff. I still remember my first trip to Pulau Redang, I dared not to even snorkel.

It was some years ago, I couldn't remember what we talked about, all I remember was this friend told me that she couldn't understand "why you're such a baby girl". The baby girl here in chinese would be "千金小姐", sort of meaning I'm such a spoiled child that would basically over-react over every little thing. She continued saying that "I couldn't take it when you acted so damn afraid over the Fear Factor show when it wasn't you in the show, and screaming and shouting by the waterfalls when you didn't even fall". That made me realised I was such a nuisance. And that changed me, totally.

I no longer shy in making friends too. I can talk a lot even to a friend that I've just met. I'd try to make conversations rather than waiting for others to start first. I found out that by being more open to making friends, I have more friends now.

I did my best in trying a lot of stuff. I jumped from a 2-storey high post (with all the safety harness of course) when I went for a team building event with ex-colleagues. I jumped from the boat into the sea (with life jacket of course) when we were snorkelling in Pulau Tioman, Andrew said I didn't even want to hold his hand swimming anymore. I'd climb on the rocks to take photos. Whenever we go travel now, I'd always tell myself to try all the stuff if possible. Also, I do not scream as much now. Hahaha. When I see a cockcroach now, if they're not flying or on my body, I'll kill it! With newspaper, magazine, sprays, whatever I can find at that point of time.

I want to prove to others and also myself, that I am not a spoiled child or product of the over-protective parents. In fact, I am not a spoiled child.

I have to thank my friend for saying that to me. Without that, I wouldn't have done so many things today. When I hesitate, those words would ring in my head, and I'd then stop hesitating and go for it. I'm a risk-taker now. There are so many things out there I have yet to do. I want to do bungee-jumping, diving and snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reefs, skydiving in New Zealand, take up a flying class......

For now, the only one place I dream to go and one thing that I dream to do so much is, skydiving in New Zealand. I wonder when can this come true, hopefully in the near future. :)

Secondhand Lions

Can't believe that Secondhand Lions was on Malaysia local TV last night. I can't remember which channel, so don't ask.

It's a great movie, a little bit of childish plus a little bit of mystery. The most wonderful part of the movie isn't about the boy, it's all about the life of 2 old brothers. How they are supporting and helping each other in their own and unique way, never give up on each other, accept the other person as he is...... There's just so much to learn from the movie.

Saint Patrick's Day

During dinner, god-knows-why Andrew moved the date on his Sony Ericsson one day forward, the screen-saver now shows a 4-leafed clover. Andrew showed me and I was shocked. That thing looked familiar but I couldn't figure out what day it is.

When I got home, on my lappie, saw Wan Yi was online. I was in the Pet Society (of Facebook), saw Wan Yi's pet was wearing all green! Another friend's pet was in green too and with a little 3-leafed clover on the wrist. I asked Wan Yi, finally. She told me it's shamrock, and that today is St. Patrick's Day! I have totally forgotten about it and I used to play around with my friends' photos in Facebook, put on the green dressings on them!

To everyone whether celebrating it or not, Happy St. Patrick's Day.

It once again proved the intelligence of SE handphone.
