Fish Avenue

The most anticipated movie is finally here. I personally think that most of us love all these armageddon movies. Guess deep down inside, there's this part of us wanting to look for some comfort and heroes-of-the-day in the movies.

When I saw that man in the movie, I thought "can't be him, he's not this old and fat". I managed to convince myself that it is NOT him in 2012 movie. Didn't look at the cast and credits at the end of the movie, I finally checked out the cast on the web. Gosh, it IS him in the movie!!! John Cusack!!! When did he become so fat and old?! I still remember the lean and charming John Cusack in "Being John Malkovich" and "Con Air". But now...... :( Of course we all grow old, and Con Air was 10 years ago. Sigh...... I myself am fat and old too. Hahahaha......

The movie, I guess it did leave some impact in all of us who watched it. If I remember it right, there was a news about the rich will be travelling to the space in some space craft. It's going to be some kind of "vacation trip". There's a price to it, only the filthy rich can afford it. I wonder if it is something similar to the arrangement in 2012 movie. I just can't help but think that way.

The only thing I think differently from the movie plot is, the destruction of mankind would not be caused by some solar flare. We are the ones who bring the end of the day upon ourselves. The depletion of resources, the global warming, the imbalance of food chain...... Just like what has been shown in the video HOME which I've blogged about earlier.

With all these cataclysm movies going on, supposingly it should create some kind of awareness among us. But look around us, not many of us are bothered with the environment. People are still taking things for granted, that the mother Earth could never go empty or sick.

It is so easy for us to start that little step that could make a big difference. Don't use plastic bag when you go shopping, recycle the plastic bottles, don't print your documents if it could be read on the computer, off the lights or switch off the appliances that are not in use, wash your clothes in bulk...... The list could go on and on. How many of us are really aware of doing them in our daily lives?

Sometimes I feel helpless when I see the people around me wasting the resources without feeling guilty or remorse. They normally shrug it off with a reply "never mind lah". Sometimes, I myself have forgotten too. Holding a plastic bag in my hand and realised it only much later, often left me with a tinge of regret.

Planning a trip is not easy, and what's more, when you're planning for the company trip, all alone.

A year ago, the bosses and management had approved the proposal of a company trip. Preferably local. Early of the year, there were 4 of us planning and brainstorming for it. After some surveys and search, the cost of travelling overseas in a group is about the same as travelling locally. Finally they bought the idea. Phuket, they chose.

Towards middle of the year, I was doing it all by myself. Liaising with the tour agent, discussions with my boss, deciding on the hotel, the air tickets, the dates...... Planning, organising, coordinating, negotiating...... They're no fun and no joke. Made some mistake too. I'm not bragging about I could do so many of them alone. It's just that now I understand how those people do it and I could appreciate more now.

The trip was postponed once, paid some penalty! What the...... Finally the day has come. I feel numb, after all the hard-work and efforts. I don't feel excited, I don't feel the thrill. I couldn't find a concrete reason not to go. So, I've got to tag along. I've never been to Phuket. Wanted to go with Andrew, but that plan has sunk deep onto the ocean floor the moment this trip was confirmed. And now, I am not looking forward to going to Phuket. I just want to get over it and done with, soonest possible!

My luggage is sitting beside my bed now, waiting to travel across the borders and seas with me.

With Andrew's snoring as the background music, I am feeling sleepy now. I have to wake up at 3am on Friday morning. Geez...... I'll be walking like a zombie in Phuket on Friday. HA! That would make great headlines, "Malaysian Zombie Crossed Border, Found Strolling On Phuket Beach"! Hahahahahaha...... LOL!!!

This is long overdue. I am so sorry that I dragged this for so long. Really sorry to Stanley. He has never rushed me and I really took all the time in the world to finish all of the photos. Guilty as charged.

...since I last blogged. No, my passion for blogging and writing has not died. Not one bit.

My backache decided to make a BIG come back 2 weeks ago. No heavy exercise, no nothing. I just had the backache the morning I woke up. Could be the bed, could be the long-standing or too much of walking. I seriously do not know how it could come back. It is no joke to have a backache. Sitting was a problem, couldn't stand too long a time, couldn't walk much, couldn't sleep well...... Gosh, at one point I couldn't even lift my leg while standing. After few times of massaging, finally got better. But now I still couldn't sit or walk too long. Sigh... It's going to be another long way to full recovery.

I have gotten so lazy nowadays, I must admit. I still have photos that need to edit but I'm just sitting on it. Taking my own sweet time to do it. Gosh! If I want to do it, I can finish them within 2 days. Yet it took me so long. Felt so guilty when finally the girl asked for the photos. That is bad. It definitely doesn't reflect good on me. Gotta work hard this week. Better commit to it.

I have really not much to blog now. My mind has been totally blank recently. A lot of things happened but I just do not know how to put them into words now. I do not wish to write them as how it happened, that would be boring. I couldn't think much, there's been too many things going on in my mind. Especially work. I am thinking about work stuff all the time.

We were supposed to go Ipoh, but I had a photoshoot session back then. Hence, we postponed it to this week and we changed the destination to Malacca. :)

It has been 6 years since I last toured Malacca. Came here with Andrew and some other friends. Now to set feet on this historical heritage soil again, nothing much has changed. Only now that I am married and I am travelling with my girlfriends, not Andrew.

Most of the people in Malacca are friendly. Especially those in Jonker Street. We went to try the chicken rice balls in Jonker Street, it taste awful. The chicken meat was tasteless and the rice was cold. The cendol was delicious though. Then we went on to the Eye On Malaysia which is now in Malacca. A bit disappointed with the view when we were up there. Nothing much to see except the Straits of Malacca.

We didn't have an exact itinerary of where we would be visiting. Just roaming around in the car, stopped wherever we felt like to. A fun trip actually. Just pity Phoebe that she had to drive all day.

We will definitely go Malacca again. It is an interesting place.

Friday night, Andrew off at 8pm. I didn't want to stay in the office, so I decided to go KLCC. Told him would like to watch a movie and I'd buy the tickets first. Geez... The traffic was terrible and horrible. The streets were packed with vehicles!!! I was at the crossroad outside of KLCC. I couldn't cross the street even when the pedestrian light was green! The cars and buses and motorbikes just coming from everywhere, ignoring the red lights!!! What in the world has gone wrong? The cars weren't moving and that supposed to be easy to cross. I was wrong! Shocked and didn't want to risk my life, I took the longer way. Walked to the Avenue K and used the tunnel to KLCC. Pretty exhausted when I reached. Didn't buy the movie tickets, seeing the mad traffic I was afraid Andrew couldn't make it to KLCC on time.

Anyway, there he was in KLCC around 8.30pm. With no idea of what Whiteout was all about, we were sitting in the smallest cinema in TGV KLCC, with only like 4 rows of audiences. LOL!

Kate Beckinsale looks stunning as usual. Love her hair. Don't think I'd look as chic as her with that hair style. Tried that few months back, looked weird and old-fashioned. Hahaha.

The movie was OK. Not great, but watchable. The story-line was a bit messy though. At times it kind of annoyed me what it was trying to tell. Actually that was the suspense! I must say that the director/producer is pretty good at keeping the audiences suspended for such a long time! At the end of the movie, it only revealed what everything was all about. It would definitely put the "ahhh... ohhh..." on your mouth. :) Imagine you have no idea what it was from the very beginning until the very end. Half way through the movie, Andrew asked me, "what is this movie all about? Aliens or monsters?" LOL! I told him to "watch the movie and that is the reason why we are here".

昨天和同事去吃饭，回来的途中告诉我林德荣会到我们公司来商讨一些事情。刚开始时我不相信。我以为她指的是我们的地产经纪阿Wing。她说不是开玩笑的啦，是真的MY FM DJ 林德荣！

林德荣不是什么天皇巨星。但是在马来西亚凡是有收听中文电台MY FM的听众，都晓得谁是林德荣。他也会演戏，曾在新加坡导演梁志强的几部电影里主演过。今年的“幸福万岁”，他可算是主角之一哦。现在的他，亦可算是电影明星吧。

好有幸哦可以那么近距离的和他见面，还握手拍照呢。也许很多朋友们都曾经在MY FM的户外活动里和他做过近距离的接触了。所以，也没什么好大惊小怪的啦。只是心里还是掩饰不了那种兴奋和快乐。:)

他人还蛮不错的。以下的照片其实是重拍第二次了。第一次在会议室里拍的，好模糊哦！同事帮我们替他说，结果他爽快地又从会议室里出来和我们拍照。其中一位男同事和他一起拍单人照，我们女生当然觉得不甘心啊。于是每个人都轮流和他一起拍。哈哈哈！好开心哦！毕竟这也是一种回忆。

昨天Andrew做晚班，整9点才放工。我害怕自己一个人在办公室里，就只好到KLCC去逛逛等他放工。最近的我好自制哦，逛街都不乱买了。真为自己感到自豪。哈哈哈！

KLCC里头唯一可以让我呆上几个小时的地方，非纪伊国书屋莫属了。7点半一到那，就直冲书店去了。今年四月在纪伊国书屋买书，获得了一张Daruma卡（达摩，亦象征好运）。有了那张卡，于4月到11月之间买的书籍都可享有28%的折扣。对爱书的我来说，这简直是可喜可贺的消息啊！但是，一个月只可用在一本书上。上个月忘了，浪费了。。。:(

走着，走着，一直都在英文书堆里打转。想买这本，也想买那本。可是仔细想想，家里还有好多书等着我去看哎。。。结果把手上拿着的两本书给放回原位去。嗯。。。好久没看华语书籍了。天啊，要找一本有趣有‘内涵’的华语书可真是难如登天！以前那些有才华的作家，现在的书根本就不吸引人。要不然就是没再出书了。

上个星期看见几米有新作品哎，但是没买。以前看过他的“向左走，向右走”，好漂亮哦。好有艺术气息的一本书。艺术得来又合逻辑，并不是无厘头的乱画一通。新作品名字叫“星空”。不知道里面画些什么呢？包得密密麻麻的，根本看不到。又不好意思到柜台去请小姐开给我看。哎呀，算了吧。买了它吧。反正折扣后只需RM37。

还没到家，在车上就迫不及待把包装给拆了。好美啊！回到家，再仔细看看。哇！真的好厉害哎！所有的图画都好漂亮哦！也好有创意！就这样，我爱上几米了！将来要慢慢收集他的作品了。

实在太欣赏他的画了。那种画中画、那种气息、感觉、颜色。。。太棒了！

其实我也是蛮喜欢画画的。但是画得不好，早就放弃了。哈哈哈！现在就只能从别人的作品上，提升自己的修养。嘻嘻。
