A Retreat To Paradise

If you want best finest sand on the beach, Redang Island is definitely a place that you can't possibly miss. It has got the safest beaches, even with the red flag up, you can still swim around, but of course, don't swim too far from the beach. :P

My first time in Redang, geez... It was 6 years ago!!! Was still using the typical half-automated point & shoot camera back then. If I have the time, I'll scan one of them and post it here. Let's see how big the difference is between now and then. Hahaha.

I won't describe much about Redang Island. You can get all the information about it on the internet. I'd only tell what happened to us in Redang. :)

Actually there were 5 of us, but I went back to KT earlier to visit mom-in-law. Well, we didn't get to see her! Just right after Andrew bought the air tickets, his mom told him that she would be going to KL for 2 weeks with her boss! Gosh......

The other 3 fellas reached KT at 2.30 in the morning!!! Omigosh...... All 5 of us bunked in the small bedroom. By 9am, we were already at the Merang Jetty waiting for the boat. We were amazed by the service provided by Laguna Redang Island Resort. I remember during my first trip, I had to hand-carry my own luggage onto the boat and walked all the way to the resort. But with Laguna Redang, we didn't have to do that!!! It's all taken care by their porter. The room was quite spacious, just nice for 5 of us. The food, well, you can't complain much since it's not a 5-star hotel. I'd still say the food is okay.

We had 3 snorkeling trips. But out of the 3, 2 were actually changed to a different location as the waves were too strong. Actually, the thing that we enjoyed the most, wasn't the snorkelling trips, it was riding the waves, oops... I should say hitting against the waves by the beach!!! LOL!!! The waves got so strong in the afternoon and we simply enjoy tossing and dipping ourselves under the sun and dipping in the sea.

Compared with my Langkawi trip last year, I'd say I didn't take enough of photos. It's a good thing, that means I had fun most of the time rather than spending time taking photos. :D

Anyway, I did have some nice shots. And thanks to Andrew, I have some cool shots of myself too. *Wide grins* :D

Despite the money I've paid, I've got back something valuable. Sweet sun tan and sun burn!!! LOL! And of course, the sweetest memories with friends in Redang. :) What a fruitful and precious trip!

Mind you, I suffer sun burn easily, even with tonnes of sunblock on! Even right now at this very moment, my right fore arm still hurt from the burns I've got. Yep, my right arm has more serious burn than other areas, I don't know why. Hahaha. My skin is all red!!! 3 days after the trip and it is still red! Hmph! :(

Phoebe and I

Wan Yi and I

Cool. Andrew.

Great beach in front of Laguna Redang Island Resort.

Phoebe got that shovel on the beach!!!

The lifeguard in Laguna Redang wears red, and Phoebe was wearing red and thought that she would play a little with that red flag! LOL!

The famous "More More Tea Inn" filming spot.

This is the morning sun, not sunset. :)

Now I can't recognise which ones are my footprints and which ones are Andrew's.

Love the sand on the beach!!! They're so fine.

I love this!!!

Hahaha. He's got the move, but that skinny body... sigh......

Wan Yi always looks sweet!

Got ourselves soaked and drowned!!! :)

I HEART this too!

Okay, the occassional V-sign! LOL!

Pretty ladies, with the carp at the back.

Edited and made this B&W.

This is so beautiful!

Last one with Laguna Redang Island Resort.

If you don't know about this place, well, go and search "collapsed stadium in Terengganu". I wonder why they didn't do anything about the debris after it collapsed!!! Another abandoned project??? Wasted the taxpayers money, again!

We stopped by to buy some corn, and saw these boys sitting at the back of the stall. Guess they're the children to the "mak cik" that's selling. They're so shy and innocent. Love it.

Went to Kuantan, Tong Yuan Restaurant to have our dinner. This is the famous stuffed crab. Not bad, but nothing to shout about.

The fish and sotong taste better! And the veggie is fresh too. :)

Out Of Town

I'll be out of town (out of KL that is) for about a week. Don't plan to take my lappie with me this time. Therefore I may not be blogging. But seeing that I LOVE to blog... Hehehe... If I get any 3G reception there on my phone, I'll grab the chance to blog then. :D

Till then, take care and see ya.

Redang!!! HERE I COME!!!

Here Comes The Joes!!!

Saw the movie trailer, thought it was cool. I knew I just gotta watch it. But I was thinking, a movie that's full of computer graphics and effects, it may make it less of the human factor and therefore less interesting. Obviously I was wrong. :)

With all the people that could fly and run like superman, it makes me realised that in this world, we do not need superman anymore. All we need is the new advanced technology that could give us all sorts of superpower weapons. With that, anyone with proper training could be a superman.

G.I. Joe, the American's heroes. When everything fails, they don't.

I remember watching the cartoon version of G.I. Joe when I was a kid, with my cousin. He loved it, but I didn't. Just that we were sharing the TV, I've got no choice but to watch what he wanted to watch sometimes. :) Saw some figurines that my cousin got too, they were so tiny. Girls being girls, those soldier-like figurines didn't attract me at all. LOL!

This movie, I must say I am speechless after the movie. It wasn't because the movie was too great, it's just that I'm in awe of the effects and technologies. All those weapons in the movie, I believe one day we could see it in the real world too. However, there are a few things in the movie that is kind of like unreasonable and exaggerated.

I like the movie, I love it. Don't ask me the cast of the movie, I don't know much about them except for Dennis Quaid. I've seen Channing Tatum in some movie before, but just can't recall which movie in particular. Sienna Miller is beautiful as ever. :)

I'm going to watch this movie for second time. Just simply want to take a good look at those weapons again. Hahahaha.

Photography - With Vivian & Friends

Remember the photoshoot with Vivian that I mentioned few weeks ago. Finally I'm done with the photos editing part.

Vivian is so much fun to shoot with, she can definitely work it all. It was so easy to shoot with her.

It was supposed to be a friendship-themed photoshoot. Too bad that it didn't materialise as there were too many photographers. Ended up that each of us shoot with different people. I was lucky that I followed Vivian. :) I followed her because first, I know her longer, the interactions between 2 of us would be easier. We joked, we talked, we laughed at each other...... Hahaha. Then, I knew that shooting Vivian would be fun. She's such a bubbly person who likes to smile and laugh a lot.

I knew that she was a bit, hmm... how should I put it? She was probably a bit frustrated that the other photographers didn't understand the theme that she had wanted. Plus, the other photographers just didn't give her the attention that she deserved! I always believe that it is not the prettiness of the object that we shoot at, it is always the interactions between the photographers and the object. If you interact well with the object, you can have beautiful photos. So, I can't understand why those photographers having their eyes fixed on the other 2 pretty ladies. Vivian is all pretty and fine too. I am glad that I shoot her more. My heart felt a bit of the twitch when she mentioned in her blog that there ain't much photos of her except from me.

I believe the photos speak of themselves. Look at all the wonderful photos I've got for Vivian. It once again proves that, you don't need an almightly camera to take good photos (of course a good camera adds to the finest details of the photo). I'm not being arrogant here, just that I love the photos so much, and I love Vivian too. :) Thanks Vivian for giving me the chance.

She looks so cute! :D

The other photographers didn't want to have the passer-by in the photo. Well, I was thinking, "the hell with it". It looks more fun to have other things in the photos. :)

They said silly to have direct sun light on the face of your subject. Well, at least it looks nice here. :p

Pretty!

Goddess in the forest? LOL!

Should I?

To write this post, I'm afraid some people out there may feel offended. But me being Ashley-ness, I guess you'll know that I don't care. If you think you may get offended by this, please do not read on after this first paragraph (but seeing human nature, most of the people will read on. Hahaha). I just want to rant and to spill out what's been kept inside me for a long time. I do not understand why some people after seeing me went out with some mutual friends, first question they asked would always be, "why you never asked me out/invited me?"

I have friends and acquaintances. I always believe in asking friends to go out should work two ways. I can't always be the one asking the rest to go out. Furthermore, this friend may not be so close with the other, and the other may not be so good with this friend...... If I were to ask all of them to go out in one group, there bound to be someone feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. If so, what's the point then to go out with friends when you can't really talk comfortably and enjoy the day?

Some even asked me, "why never invite me?" It wasn't a party, wasn't a gathering or whatsoever, how could I invite? Furthermore, at times it was a mutual thing, few friends suddenly just said "hey let's meet up on xxx day". Should I be reporting to my friends every time I go out with another? That would be so tiring and exhausting.

If you feel offended reading this, you should have stopped reading by now. When you feel offended, how about me feeling offended too when my other friends asked me why I never invite them? Yes, I do feel upset and annoyed when someone asked me that. If they would like to go out with me or some other friends, why not they make the first move? I've taken so many first moves to ask my friends out, why can't they? Okay, perhaps I am being demanding. But they are equally demanding too for wanting me to invite them first. Don't you think so? That question has put a lot of invisible pressure on me. Why? 'Cause when I have a date with some friends, I dare not to blog about it in my blog, I dare not to mention about it in my Facebook, even if I mentioned, it would all be anonymous. You see, I am making my life difficult. Silly me, why would I do that? Yeah, I should do what I wish to do.

Should I be the one that making all the efforts in calling/SMS-ing every friends whenever I go out? Should I also be responsible for fixing a date that suits everybody? C'mon, I do feel tired too doing all this. We're friends, if they want to meet or see me, they should know what to do. And if I want to meet and see them, I will know what to do as well.

I love those who said to me "hey, glad that you had fun with the girls." It is so lovely to hear that from a friend. That put a big grin on my face and I know for sure I will definitely want to have a fun day with that friend soon.

I don't mean to offend anyone out there. I'm just writing my feelings here. If they like it, they like it; if they don't, I'm sorry I can't help much.

Writing this out is such a relief. Phew. Now, whenever I have a date with some friends, I would not hide it anymore. Say whatever they want, ask whatever they wish to ask, they're free to say and ask anyway. :) I'm so happy I have finally lifted another tiny stone from my heart. I feel good now. :D

Blogging is so therapeutic!!! :)

Toy Car

Last night after work, Andrew came to pick me up and we were going to have dinner together with his father. Yes, his father is in town.

Since Andrew wanted to go get some contact lens for our Redang trip next week, so we went to Mid Valley Megamall. When we were in the parking basement, Andrew saw something but I didn't. "I'll show you the car", he said. I thought he was going to show me some cool sports car, as usual he only has eyes for nice super cars.

Ta Da!!! There we were looking at this car!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I was simply "OMG OMG OMG" all the way!!! With my jaw dropped open in awe and I was studying the car, I took out my iPhone and snapped photos!!! I wish I had my Canon with me!!! This is such a rare find!!! Okay, I know I used a lot of exclamation marks here! Hahaha. But this is just simply awesome and unbelievable!!! LOL! Pardon me.

Alright, now you guys have a good look at this car. I do not claim ownership of this car, neither does Andrew. I swear I did not use Photoshop to add in those cutie figurines, except the watermark and I covered the car plate number. The figurines are where they are when I saw the car. If you know the owner, please let me know. Or perhaps you have seen this car before. But honestly, this is my first time seeing a car with those things!!! Hahahaha.

Look at this!!!

This is the whole back!!!

There are figurines inside the car too!!!

The front. Gosh, they're everywhere!

This is the left side of the car! On the step!!!

Love, Laughters, Sweat

Today is a day that made me all energised again. We ate, talked, laughed, screamed, played, joked, took photos, sweat...... All that we could do in probably several days, we did it all in one day! LOL!

I can't remember if Nicole invited us over, or it was one of our little evil ideas (okay, we have many BIG evil ideas :)) just to crash her house and made her worked her ass off to cook for us. Hahahaha. She has been headache for 2 weeks on what to cook for us and if we would like it. Awww... Nicole, Nicole... Your worries were all for nothing. :) The food was delicious!

After buying some Coca-cola from 7-Eleven, went to Wangsa Maju LRT station to pick up Melissa and off we went to Nicole's house. There was some minor traffic jam on the road, but we got there around 12.30pm. Wan Yi came late, at about 1pm.

Nicole had made us a dozen of double chocolate muffins! Yes, you read me right, a dozen for 5 of us, including her kind self. There was a dozen of strawberry chicken wings!!! And, the divine of the day, potato/ham gratin!!! When Melissa, Vivian and I got there first, the gratin was still in the oven. Nicole said there was too much of cream and it was watery. But when it was done, it wasn't. With the extra cream and milk, Melissa happily sucked all of them! LOL! Alright, not all, but much of it. Hehehe. The gratin was super yummy, with the ham and cheese...... Ooohhh...... There wasn't any single drop of cream spared on my plate! Hahahaha. The strawberry chicken was unique. With a teeny tinge of sourness, it didn't spoil the taste of the chicken wings. The double chocolate muffins!!! How could I miss that! I was the first to grab one and put it in my mouth! Hahahaha. It's even better than those muffins from Coffee Bean or Starbucks.

After having a hearty, filling and satisfying meal with a big grin on all of our faces, we headed straight for the Wii!!! Yes, it was Wii time! So funny to see Wan Yi having all sorts of expressions again. She has never failed to demonstrate to us how her face can be contorted into so many funny ways! Hahahaha.

We had a great time playing and laughing our heads off!!! After a while, I noticed Melissa and Vivian, who weren't playing, were having their very own photoshooting session right at the balcony area with my camera! LOL! And then Vivian suggested to go down to the facilities floor to have some outdoor photoshooting session.

Vivian left around 4pm, but the 3 of us continued our Wii session. Melissa wasn't playing at all. Hmm...... I wonder if she doesn't like to play or she simply wanted to enjoy seeing our funny reactions! Hahaha. Every great party has to come to an end.

Melissa then left around 5.30pm. Wan Yi and I now had the whole Wii to ourselves, with Nicole sitting and watching! :D Both of my arms are aching now after all the violent shaking from playing Wii! Hahaha.

A super-duper BIG thank-you to Nicole, for cooking such a nice and wonderful meal for us. I know you've made a lot of efforts in cooking something that we all would like. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that, Nicole has got a very homey house. She has always mentioned that it's her 狗兜 (doggie house, similar to a small humble hut). If that is a doggie house, it sure hell is a damn big house! LOL! It's not small at all, not even close to messy, it is so clean and comfortable. Wish I could have a home like that in the future.

Here's some photos, to feed your hungry eyes. More to come later tomorrow.
